Photography & General Media

Here Are Photos
An interesting collection of photographs by Martin Wilson ranging from artistic urban observations to stylish and often remarkable shots of BMX bike maneuvers.

Mancubist
Not just photos but also "a website about Manchester. Recurring themes include culture, art, music, media and technology in the rainy city"

Music

Brownswood Recordings
Giles Peterson's London based record label is everything you would expect from GP and plays host to Jose James and Soil and Pimp Sessions!

Compost
The German Compost label is one of the prime sources of all that is most innovative in contemporary Jazz, Fusion, and Cross-Over sounds. This site has the full catalogue and loads of MP3 downloads.

Factory
Pure nostalgia for all things Factory. This appears to be one of the most active sites offering a broad range of info on this iconic Mancunian institution.

Hungry hahaha
Personal site of Hungryhahaha the brainchild of Mr Evan Wilson, a folky retro and post-rock influenced multi instrumentalist, but in a deliberately quirky class all of his own. Many atmospheric and sometimes haunting low-fi tunes.

Nuspirit Helsinki
Northern Europe is the new home of nu-jazz and some of the most atmospheric and introspective styles in serious electro/acoustic music. NSH is also one of the JCR/Compost labels most respected collectives.

Sonar Kollektiv
German sister label to Compost JCR, yet another top line outlet for cutting edge European Jazz.

Stereolab
One of my favourite bands. This Informative site includes lots of info on The Group, also plenty of music and video downloads.

Stereolab Unofficial
Unofficial Lab site, curiously better than the "official" one.

The Five Corners Quintet
More state of the art jazz from Finish outfit and part of the Nuspirit Helsinki collective…it’s better than anything coming out of the US or UK in my opinion; unique new atmospheres.

Journal Writers

Dickon Edwards
Mr Edwards is a singer song writer and former front man of the 90s romo-soul band Orlando. He is also the doyen of on line diarists and continues to produce one of the most eloquent and engaging “weblogs” around.

Laurence Armstrong-Hughes
Mr Hughes is a composer and writer/ broadcaster on music. His weblog "musings" convey a romantic affection for the more timeless qualities of English culture and a nomadic bohemian life on Britain’s inland waterways .

Urban Imp
Gill Heritage’s site is a charming collection of diaries based on and around observations in her own green urban oasis. She has introduced a subtext of pagan spirituality and structures the diary according to the Neo Pagan tree months. Gill’s revamped site now contains a plethora of information, thoughts and ideas on all aspects of sustainable living and environmentalism. All of it based around a number of practical ventures from an allotment to the family home. Loads of good ideas for saving money and becoming more detached from the "energy marketplace"

Local Sites

Artizana
The Artizana Gallery is a privately owned out-let for unique and imaginative furniture and ornamentation, all of it hand made by accomplished designers and crafts people.

Prestbury Cheshire.com
John Swallow's site is a comprehensive guide to the history of Prestbury with a number of relevant links.

St Peter's Prestbury
St Peters Church at the heart of Prestbury is very much the historical focal point of the village. The website is very informative and again provides a source of village news.

The Admiral Rodney
This is one of the oldest pubs in Prestbury Village. The website has some further info about Prestbury as well as a number of interesting photos.
