Radiant fruitfulness
A beautiful day in Prestbury St Peters churchyard. The beech trees look particularly spectacular this year and they are always one of my favourite autumn trees. The weather has been mostly war, unusually so for this time of year and we are still feeling the effects of the el nino which earlier in the year was partly responsible for a considerably protracted heatwave. We are in for more of the same in 2027 apparently.
I have been working a lot with AI this year, building a folio of visual work, video and an apps to demonstrate my skills with a variety of long-chain AI based developments. After such a long periods of work with AI though, it is so nice to get back to real image making. Working with edit processes in Darktable and Gimp, returning to manual filter creations and Orton processing. I didn’t realise quite how much I miss this and how much of a feeling of reward I get from it.

The thing with AI is that it is obviously amazing, but there is something disengaged about the ease with which it is able to create extraordinary imagery. Extraordinary imagery that is somehow less interesting than simple authentic real-world captures where I was actually there in the moment.
