Victoria station apartments
Some new residential architecture in Manchester. These blocks are close to Victoria station and the top floors will have a very interesting overview of the station activity and most of the Manchester cityscape – in all directions. I have been on several cycling trips into town these last few days. The weather has been superb, in fact, it has been one of the driest and warmest May’s on record.
One of my objectives was to photograph the GM Friends of Palestine march on the Saturday, which I did, link below. Other protests and minor political / cultural activities were also taking place on that day and the city had an interesting and very lively feel. Somewhat similar to that one experienced in the era of clandestine daytime ravs and mass gatherings at bars, back in the 90s!
The picture above has been treated with my orton effect and is a gradient map conversion to B&W. I like the interplay of the Metrolink tramway catenary and for some odd reason it gives me very east European vibes.
