Robin Hoods Bay – 3

Cycling to Robin Hoods Bay in 2011

Revisiting some old pictures from an interesting train plus bike trip to the north Yorkshire coast. I cycled from Scarborough to Robin Hoods Bay along the former route of the Scarborough to Whitby railway, sadly a late victim of the Beeching cuts. How busy this line would be now!

It was about 19 miles of very uncertain riding. I got badly lost on at least three occasions as the trail disappeared into housing estates and turned inland for quite some distance. It was also on a continuous ascending gradient from Scarb to RHB and quite a demanding ride over time.
