Wagwan Timperley mandem & girldem fam
A dramatic and brilliantly crafted ‘tag’ on the side of an old municipal park shelter in Timperley, Gtr Manchester. I just had to stop and take a picture of this work by an unknown / undecipherable artist. It is very reminiscent of a railway tag and has many of the hallmarks of the familiar tags that now adorn many of our freight wagons in the UK, even the scale of it looks as if it was meant to go on the side of an HYA mineral hopper!
I have been reviewing many of my photos of graffiti art recently, partly in view of the governments recent crack-down on this sort of thing and the recent disappearance – painting over of a whole slew of work by Wythenshawe artists in the pedestrian runway tunnels on Wilmslow rd. This of course, has just meant that an already unattractive space becomes even more intimidatingly dehumanized.

A famous (in railway circles) HYA mineral hopper at Dove Holes quarry Derbyshire with a full size Garfield tag by Nice Touch or FOS FOS Crew? This wagon may occasionally be seen running through Skelton junction in Timperley and it has even been modelled.
