Macclesfield TERF meetup

A meeting of Macclesfield’s Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists, women’s rights activists, and just generally concerned women from all walks of life. This was part of the Let Women Speak event, an umbrella collective of all of the above and famously set up by Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull aka Posy Parker. The event mixed some impassioned speeches with topical performance including poetry and music; all of which is a typical format for most LWS meetings.

It seems a long time ago now, but so many of the demands of these groups are now being passed into law beginning with the Forstater v CGD Europe case which now protects gender critical beliefs and speech in public or private space. Most recently, the UK high court passed a new law to confirm the genetic reality of sex and gender. Confirming for us all that sex is observed at birth (actually it can be defined long before birth of course) and is an immutable characteristic of a persons fundamental identity.
